Two of the most girly things in fashion definitely are embroidery and romantic roses. Add girly pink and you have the strongest stereotype you can imagine. But it doesn’t necessarily have to be this way. Dolce & Gabbana has been combining embroidery and roses for ages, portraying an image of a very feminine but yet fierce woman.
I don’t think the way you dress defines your personality. When you wear romantic dresses and lacy things, people think you are ultra girly and they may associate it with emotional, childish and needy. But black garments and leather jackets makes you a fierce rock ‘n roll chick everybody wants to hang out with.
The way you dress shouldn’t create a fixed idea and prejudices about what kind of woman you are. It’s not because I’m wearing a pink print with roses or a tule skirt that I don’t have my shit together. And when I’m wearing dark jeans with a leather jacket doesn’t mean that I can’t get emotional sometimes.
Clothes are so versatile and that’s what I love about it. I took two things that, for me, related to femininity the most and made it work for me. One dressed up look and one more laid-back outfit that I spiced up with some heels. Both containing feminine elements, both looking completely different. The way I dress and wear it should not create an image in your mind of how I am as a person.
