Summer is over. And I’m fine with that. Autum is the perfect season to wear my one true love all day every day. The Long Statement Coat.
I think I own one in practically every colour. Besides my timeless collection of black coats I also own some more daring pieces. I found this one at Jutka & Riska (a cute vintage-mixed-with-their-own-design-store in Antwerp and Amsterdam). The dashing duo behind Jutka&Riska designed this beautiful coat. They used a soft beige and to turn it into a real headturner they added one of their prints on the bottom.
I’m also a big fan of power clashing (mixing two different, very loud prints) but sometimes it is better to let one piece do the talking, figurative. So I wore a white culotte and grey shirt, very casual. Added the coat and heels, which made it not so casual anymore. So basically what I’m trying to say here is that you can create a fashionable look by investing in one statement piece and look flawless. Just like I did here. I combined the coat with a H&M Shirt and Asos culotte (which were not expensive at al). By mixing it with one glamorous piece you can turn your whole casual vibe around.
Maybe I am the wrong person to say it (I don’t have enough closets to store my clothes) but quality really is better than quantity.
