New York Fashionweek is now over, and it went out with a bang. A Marc Jacobs bang. From the moment the bell pinged, everyone new they were in for a show.
When the first model set foot on the runway, his inspiration became clear. Goths. Jacob obviously put together a beautiful play with proportions. He sized up most of the coats but he shrunk a couple items too. With some pieces embellished and full of glitter he showed a more luxurious version of the goth. The models were also given some extra lenght with huge platforms. Also the make-up was in theme. A dramatic black smokey eye and black lipstick to stick in the same vibe.
I absolutely loved the fur attached on the sleeves. Especially the one Lady Gaga wore. As the show proceded we also saw some more revealing piece but also with a slight blink to the dark side. Long see-through dresses than made room for some serious coats which probably half the crowd was craving because of the brutal New York weather. Marc Jacobs mainly used black and white, with a hint of colour here and there. Also his use of fabrics (think leather, feathers and crystals) made the show absolutely stand out
